Skin diseases are often alike for they mostly appear as an itchy and bulging part of your skin. In deeper understanding about this type of disease, although they might sometimes looks the same, there are still things that can make them different from each other. This is important for it can help us identify the right and proper medication for that specific type of skin disease.

Like genital warts and genital herpes, they are sometimes connected to each other as being the same. There might be some factors that are similar with these two types of infection but they are not the same. Literally they are not the same if you can notice but seriously, genital warts and genital herpes are two completely different viruses. They are both viral STDs, but they are caused by different viruses.

genital herpes

Genital herpes is caused by the virus called herpes simplex. This virus also includes cold sores, chickenpox, shingles, and a few others. Genital herpes causes painful, itchy blisters on the penis, on the vulva, or inside the vagina. These blisters can break and become shallow, painful, oozing sores.

Genital Warts

On the other hand, genital warts are cause by HPV (Human Papillomavirus). HPV also causes other kinds of warts including hand and feet warts. Genital warts may appear in large or small portion in your skin. Warts may look like tiny bunches of cauliflower or like flat, white areas that are very difficult to see. They are very itchy, irritating, and can sometimes bleed.
